Hi! my name is Diana, and you've somehow just landed on my art blog. Here I post my own scribbles, finished artworks and photos. I also sometimes post other things than my own stuff, things that inspire or resonate with me in some other way. Feel free to check out the tags if you are only interested in a specific type of posts.
I drew Queans awesome character “Messy Head” I just LOVE her art and character design.
I started inking this with the wrong pen (non waterproof) so this image had a few problems along the way XD;; it’s been a lot of fun to do more non digital art lately, especially since I have a new watercolour friendly moleskine, good practice for me since I don’t have much experience with watercolour. Too bad my scanner is horribad at scanning colour work, so I need to photograph my art….this one is actually taken with my mobile phone ^^;
The theme for this one is of course Valentine’s day! Jill was the first girl I knew I wanted to draw and there was no question what month suited her best. ;) One of the things I knew I immediately wanted in the picture was her as cupid with a “love-bazooka”. Because I drew her as cupid she is of course nude, which makes this image the most “daring” of all my contributions to the calendar. I apologize to any sensitive viewers of my blog.
I censored it a little in the end with a red ribbon, as red-ribbons are a common valentines day theme in a lot of Japanese valentine’s day art . (just check pixiv). I tried to make this as light hearted and “airy” as possible. The pose was “stolen” from an old Playboy playmate (Miss June 1974; Sandy Johnson).
I did the whole of it (even the thumbnail sketch) in Photoshop with a mix of the standard paint brushes. I hope you like it!
Concept art for my latest project; Illustrating for Aivi & Surasshu’s album release. They are two fantastic musicians! I’m so honored to be asked to work with them!! and their album is turning out awesome, I’m sure you will all love it too.
I’m trying to go back a bit to my roots (Belgian comics) with this project, as you might see? Concepts/style are not set in stone yet,I might still make some changes but I hope you like it so far. :) I’ll keep posting some sneak peaks as we go.
Last image looks a bit bare, that’s because I erased a lot of writing on that one, don’t want you to get any spoilers ;)
My prints for this weekend’s comic convention arrived today!
They are professionally printed on a4 size paper. (they look great!) I’m so glad I chose a printing place that is close and not order online, so I could check it all out. Especially as the proofs I got where a lot greener and darker than my originals. Now I could just tweak my drawings and they came out perfect. This is also one of the reasons I don’t put my work on online print services (like DA) as I wanna make sure that people get my artwork like it was intended to look.
I’ll put any unsold (or might even print more if there is interest) for sale online next week. ^^ I’ll message here if I’m gonna print more, if there is any artwork you would like that isn’t among the printed ones. I can pretty much make prints of any picture/sketch you would like as long as it is big enough.
I’m also planning on doing sketch commissions at the convention. Although I’m going back and forth on that, I’m crazy nervous…I’ve never done anything like that before! I’m also so very private and critical of my drawings. Think it might be really good for me though, getting out of my comfort zone and all that. Besides, even if I’m offering it I might end up with no customer anyways. ………….but OMGGGG big lump in chest just thinking about it T oT);
Hand references! I know I don’t have particularly pretty hands, but I made these long ago for my own reference folder. Just thought maybe some of you out there might find them useful for your work too? I have TONS more, but they aren’t as neatly sorted as these..(lemme know if you want more.)
